HR CONCLAVE 2018

The Training & Placement cell of the IIS University organized a two day HR Conclave on the topic Women and the Workforce: Employment trends for women in India, from 9th to 10th February, 2018 at the IIS School Auditorium. The programme began in IIS Auditorium on February 09, 2018 with the inaugural ceremony with Princess Diya Kumari as the Chief Guest along with the Keynote speaker for the day Ms. Rolee Agarwal, Vice Chancellor of The IIS University, Rector & Registrar Dr.Raakhi Gupta and Placement Officer, Dr.Shivi Saxena. Ms. Rolee Agarwal IRS, Income Tax Commissioner addressed the session as the Keynote Speaker and with her inspiring speech she motivated the students to carve their way out to success and shared Five rules & rituals which she believe is important to achieve any success . After the Keynote speech, Mr. Abhijeet Joshi, Director Sales, Gemporia TV, took over the session for the first invited lecture where he made students aware of wide number of career opportunities available for women in Media Industry. He attempted to take over the inhibited myth related to career aspects for women in the media. Followed by him Ms. Pooja Pandey, Associate Director, British Telecom from one amongst the leading telecommunications companies in the world, stated forth the concern about gender diversity and the need for inclusion of women workforce in today’s corporate sector and discussed the challenges faced by women at work. She concluded her session by quoting wonderfully “don’t be a victim, if you will be a victim you will be victimized”. Thereafter Mr. Kishore Chainani a life coach from’ Let’s design Life’, took over the session as the last speaker for the day. He interacted with the students about failures in life and ways to overcome them, he insisted to have a massive huge consistent actions and the most important thing that he asked everyone out there to discover a “Why” in life for your goal. At the end an open discussion took place wherein students asked questions related to how to be positive in life, how to be consistent in their actions. On the second day of the conclave, the first technical session was taken up by Ms. Tejal Raut, Senior Manager from Piramal Foundation, who talked about Gandhi Fellowship Program on various business ideas for women in today’s scenario and about sexual harassment faced by both the genders at workplace. Her session was quite interesting as she interacted with the students about various career opportunities which women usually do not take as their career option. Followed by her ,the next session was taken by Major Neha Bhatnagar, from Indian Army won accolades for her brave attempt to climb the Mt. Everest . The entire session was very motivating & inspiring for the students as she shared her experience of Mt. Everest and about Indian Army and various career opportunities for women in armed forces. She concluded her session by stating ‘dream big, think big’. After a short break, the next session was addressed by Ms. Mahima Sharma, Sr. Manager, Gender Diversity for Genpact. she talked about issues with gender diversity and importance of inclusion of women workforce at workplace. She discussed reasons why women renege on their career commitments and also about various innovative ways to remove gender bias at workplace. Followed by her the next session was taken by CA Neha Gadia , presently working with her new venture ‘V Grow’. She told students how do they grow organic fruits and vegetables in their farm and how do they make it available to the people. The last session was taken by Mr. VipunWadwa, a soft & behavioral skill trainer, whose session was very energetic, interactive and packed with fun activity for the students as he made them do various skill development activities indispensible to ignore at the workplace. At last there was a small presentation played for the students on the glimpses of the HR Conclave 2018 which was an icing on the cake for all.
