AECC (Ability Enhancement Compulsory Course)/Foundation Course:
Learning and Development was started in 2019-2020.
 
To curb the gap between the skill set required by the companies and the skills possessed by the students, and as the competition is getting tough with each passing year to get entry into the corporate world, there is a need for the ongoing soft skill, communication and personality development training programs for the students of the IIS University.
 
Keeping this objective in mind, the university has decided to imbibe the learning and development program for its professional courses which would have credits attached to it.

 

Learning and Development (LAD) course is offered in the following programs.

2 Credits per semester are given to each course.

  • UG- BBA, BCA, B.A.JMC
  • PG- MBA, M.A.JMC

COURSE OUTCOMES

CO1

Understand, acquire, articulate, retain, apply and communicate various mental models along with their personal strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats as well as understand the corporate grooming standards.

CO2

Employ critical thinking, and knowledge to design, carry out, and record various types of industry specific online and offline resume and elevator pitch.

CO3

Apart from the jobs, students can also work or get jobs in fields of their interest and passion. Students also work on their businesses, start-ups and come out as entrepreneurs, and bloggers. Students can also find employment in government sectors. Often, the students are recruited directly by big MNC’s after their course completion or during internships as well.

Learn and apply the knowledge of group discussion and they master the same through mock practice sessions. Acquire the ability to face and clear interviews confidently and with focused approach for internships and jobs.

Communicate effectively and confidently both verbally and non-verbally on various issues and voice their opinions, comprehend and write effective reports, write formal informal letters and applications, make effective presentations. Students are also able to Perform, express and convince with their ideas in public speaking.

Demonstrate their personal branding through various social media websites, creating online resume at various platforms, such as Naukri and LinkedIn.

Illustrate the right behaviour and business etiquette and in a social setting and infer and apply the aspects of team work and time management in their day-to-day life.

Acquire the skills to build understanding of the importance of Prioritizing work over other distractions and are able to apply the same in their daily routine and are also able to manage conflict. Anticipate stress and discover internal motivation.

Identify and memorize various organizations and their mission and vision statements and develop their own mission.

Lifelong Learning – Students will acquire the confidence to speak in public, create their personal brand in market which will give them the needed visibility in the job market. The elevator pitch, resume and interview skills will help them get through any interview in future.
