Employability Mock Process Workshop

The Department of Management Studies, in association with the Training & Placement Cell, The IIS University had organised a Three Day Workshop on ‘Employability Mock Process’ held on 18th, 19th and 20th September, 2018 for the students of BBA Semester V. There were about 150 students participated in the Workshop. The Workshop was chaired by the Resource person Mr. Aayush Dangayach and Mr. Dayal Srivastava, Endeavor Careers, Jaipur. The key Resource persons were felicitated and warmly welcomed with the floral greetings.
The purpose of the Workshop was to provide an opportunity to the students to shape their attitude, aptitude and instill confidence in them.
In this Workshop, the following areas have been covered:
1st day: Preparation for Aptitude Test, and
2nd day: Techniques for Group Discussions, Resume Building, and Mock Group Discussions
3rd day: Tips for Personal Interview, and Mock Personal Interviews
Day1
The workshop was commenced on September 18th, 2018. On the day, the key Resource person was Mr. Aayush Dangayach who is an electrical engineer from SKIT, Jaipur. He has got an experience of more than 4 years in the field of Education. He is a trainer for the students aspiring for CAT, GRE, CLAT and other entrance exams. Floral Greeting was presented to him by Dr. Chhavi Jain, Sr. Asst. Professor, The IIS University.
Mr. Dangayach discussed with students about how to enhance aptitude and reasoning skills. He shared various techniques for mathematical calculations with the students. During the session, an Aptitude test was conducted for participant students. The duration of the test was 60 minutes. The test was designed to check three abilities – Quantitative, Verbal and Reasoning.

Day2

On September 19th 2018, the session was revived and headed by Mr. Dayal Srivastava. He is an Electrical Engineer and had a degree of MBA from IBS. He is having 16 years of varied experience in Engineering, Financial and Education sector. He has been in the field of training to students for various competitive exams like CAT, CMAT, GRE and GMAT. Mr. Srivastava was presented floral greetings by Dr. Ashish Khandelwal, Associate Professor, The IIS University.
The resource person discussed the techniques of participation in Group Discussion, Do’s & Don’ts in Group Discussion, and tips for Resume building.
During the session, mock Group Discussions were organised for the students. There were around twelve Group Discussions held in the session. Each group was consists of 8-10 members. The topics of the discussion were related with current scenario. All the students actively participated in the mock Group discussions. At the end of each discussion, the resource person gave personal feedback to the students.

Day3

On the third day of the Workshop, Mr. Dayal Srivastava was the Resource Person again. He addressed the students about the tips for how to face Personal Interview effectively. Some Mock interviews were conducted for the students. And questions were asked from students like - introduce yourself, tell about your hobbies, strengths, weaknesses, career objective, and some specific questions regarding their discipline. All the students were given an opportunity to interact with the Resource person and his team for personal counselling, and feedback was provided to each student.

Outcome: The workshop was successful in promoting the employability and aptitude skills among students. The sessions were very interactive with the students. It helped the students in promoting knowledge of reasoning, vocabulary and grammar. The workshop gave an insight on the use of communication skills, leadership skills, effective listening, outer box thinking, self efficacy, resume building, Interview skills, and use of data and information during Group Discussions.

The Workshop was fruitful for the students and faculty members. This was ended with honorarium to the guest and vote of thanks.
