Ambassador Deepak Vohra, Special Advisor to Prime Minister Lesotho, Guinea-Bissau, South Sudan, Special Advisor to Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils, Leh and Kargil, visited IIS University on 16 February 2016 to conduct a seminar on “Global Megatrends”.
The seminar started with the introduction of Ambassador Vohra. The Vice Chancellor, IISU, Dr. Ashok presented the floral greeting & memento to the guest.
In his session, Ambassador Vohra discussed about the critical relation between India and Pakistan. He also narrated the incident when when Indian oil workers were kidnapped in Sudan in 2007, Ambassador Vohra offered himself in exchange for the hostages. In 2014 he went to a remote Ebola-affected area of Guinea to help the villagers and almost contracted the virus.
At the end the session was made open to the students for the questions. The students were very excited to know more about Ambassador Vohra’s experiences.
