Business Analytics Workshop

The Business Analytics workshop was organised by the Placement Cell of IIS University, Jaipur in association with IIM Indore Event and Marketintern.com. The topic of the workshop was Business Analytics.

There were 55 students who participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm. The corporate trainer for the 2 day session was invited from Delhi. Ms. Chumki Bhowmick is an area specialist with an experience of about 8 years in the coporate sector.
The workshop began with the welcome note from Dr. Shivi Saxena, Placement Cell co-ordinator, IIS University by presenting the floral greetings to the guest.
Thereafter, Ms. Chumki took over the session with full energy and introduced the students to the world of Data Analytics. She made the students realise the power of Data Analytics and how deep it is practised.
She introduced the students to the stages of preparing Data for use by using various software, some of which could be named as Python, Ms- excel, R, Anaconda etc.
After a whole lot of learning various activities were carried out by her to make the session interactive and knowledgeable.
The students showed their best interest and raised many queries and solutions to the problems faced and introduced.

2nd Day – August, 4
The second day of the workshop started at 9:00 a.m. in the morning with positive energies coming up.
The trainer introduced the students to the selection round of I5 Summit and its procedure. She then, made groups of 5 students each and gave them a project to work, on which the selections were to be made.
The students were given exact 2hrs to complete the project with their team members. Meanwhile, the trainer showed very polite and encouraging behaviour toward the students helping each of the group in the problems they faced relating to the project or the topic.
The presentation round started with all the groups presenting their project to the trainer one by one. Selection became a tough decision as all the groups had cut throat competition.
Finally, 5 students – Jannifer Wadhwa, Riya Sharma, Riya Bansal, Gauri Sharma and Alisha Asija got selected for the second round to be held in IIM Indore.
At the end of the 2 day session, the students were given participation certificates and Merit certificates were distributed to the merit holders.
At the end the guest was thanked by all with a thank you note and memento was presented to the guest by Registrar Dr. Raakhi Gupta.
