A seminar was organized by the Training & Placement Cell of IISU for all the B.Com/ BBA Sem V students on 24 July 2018. Since, final year students will be facing personal interviews in their near future for campus recruitment and also for applying to higher education, the topic of the guest lecture was “Tips on Facing Personal Interview”.
The speaker for the session was Dr. Vivek Ranga, Dean and Campus Head from ICFAI Business School. He has 17 years of teaching experience as a marketing faculty with teaching interests in B2B marketing, Retail Management and Marketing communication. His research interests include media and consumer behavior and education methodology, he has participated in national and international seminars and conferences.
The session began with the welcome note by the Placement Officer Dr. Shivi Saxena. She introduced the students to the topic of the guest lecture & the necessity of becoming a pro understanding & clearing the aptitude test in order to be eligible for campus interviews & also for appearing for the competitive exams.
Mr. Piyush explained the students the difference between maths & quanititative skills. He also explained students, the actual meaning of Aptitude test & quantitative test. When he asked the students about their fright from Maths, almost entire crowd raised their hands. He then quoted some simple examples to demonstrate the students that if correct techniques are applied how a difficult question can be solved by simple calculation. He also pointed out on the important topics to be covered like profit & loss, percentage etc. before appearing for the aptitude tests to score well. Towards the conclusion, the speaker gave some quantitative problems to the students for solving.
The session was well appreciated by the students and they also demanded for more such sessions. The session ended with the Thank You note by the Placement Officer.
The seminar was attended by around 150 students from B.Sc. BBA, B.Com & MBA programmes.
