A seminar was organized by the Training & Placement Cell of IISU for all the final year students on 28 July 2017. Keeping in mind the need of the hour, the topic of the guest lecture was “Aptitude Test Preparation for Campus Interviews”.
The speaker for the session was Mr. Piyush Vats, professional trainer for Quantitative Ability and PDP skills. He has an experience of 5 years teaching students for CLAT, IPM, BBA, HM, CAT, GMAT, GRE, and Bank PO/SSC. Over the years he has mentored more than 2000 students.
The session began with the welcome note by the Placement Officer Dr. Shivi Saxena. She introduced the students to the topic of the guest lecture & the necessity of understanding & clearing the aptitude test in order to be eligible for campus interviews & also for applying to the competitive exams.
Mr. Piyush explained the students the difference between maths & quanititative skills. He also explained students, the actual meaning of Aptitude test & quantitative test. When he asked the students about their fright from Maths, almost entire crowd raised their hands. He then quoted some simple examples to demonstrate the students that if correct techniques are applied how a difficult question can be solved by simple calculation. He also pointed out on the important topics to be covered like profit & loss, percentage etc. before appearing for the aptitude tests to score well. Towards the conclusion, the speaker gave some quantitative problems to the students for solving.
The session was well appreciated by the students and they also demanded for more such sessions. The session ended with the Thank You note by the Placement Officer.
The seminar was attended by around 150 students from B.Sc. BBA, B.Com & MBA programmes.
